Press Trips – National

Press Trips

One of my main roles at Marketing Manchester is to organise and co-ordinate press trip in order to generate press coverage on the city.

I have been personally responsible for organising a national campaign centred around national media. This involved pro-actively seeking press trip ideas and planning them throughout the pres trip process.

See some examples of the material I have worked on:

Journalist comment:

Hi Amanda

Just wanted to drop you a line to check you’d received a copy of our September issue which is out now featuring Manchester and also to thank you once again for all your hard work organising the trip. Your advice and info were invaluable and having since worked with other city’s PRs you really stand out for making things go smoothly. Some of the others are atrocious in comparison!

“hi amanda,

just a quick note to say thanks very much for organising everything for us in manchester – all that went against us was the result but visiting old trafford was certainly special.

considering we were only there 24 hours, we certainly crammed a lot in, the highlight of which was undoubtedly cloud 23. so glad we weren’t there and took in the amazing views. it was nice to be able to waltz past the curious queue on the red carpet leading to an elevator and ever so embarrassing being the only people allowed in it as we headed up, but what a super spot and i enjoyed my mint julep greatly at the end of a long day.

the hotel was also fantastic, they upgraded us to a mandarin room on the corner of the building, it was unfortunate we didn’t have time to check out the spa facilities, but it was a case of keeping moving, as we managed to fit in the docks, the wheel and our tour guide. deirdre was very helpful and showed us mr thomas’s chop house, where we had decided to have lunch.
what a great place. corned beef hash washed down with a pint of black sheep. marvellous.

we came away thinking manchester was superb and that we’d like to return for longer so you’ve obviously done your job well.

i’ll let you know when our column goes in the lite and send you up a few copies.

all the best for now – and thanks once again.
